Week 5 In Lent

Each week for the remainder of Lent I will post the Collect of the week, Readings, Psalms from the Daily Office Lectionary, and the suggested Canticles for Morning Prayer. I say the Confession of Sins in the evening, and am using the provided Canticles each day for Evening Prayer. This way you can pray on your own with ease, or mark them in advance if you would like to join Allison and I praying on Facebook Live. Allison and I are offering the Daily Office on her church’s Facebook page here. Morning Prayer will be at 9:00 am EST Monday-Friday, and Evening Prayer at 6:00 pm EST Sunday-Thursday.

Collect of the Week

Almighty God, you alone can bring into order the unruly wills and affections of sinners: Grant your people grace to love what you command and desire what you promise; that, among the swift and varied changes of the world, our hearts may surely there be fixed where true joys are to be found; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
